Well September started with a review of Nobel possibleSvetlana Alexievich’s book voices from Chernobyl , here interviews with survivors from the disaster.Then I set off to Africa and a collection of classic and new books all connected to africa from Lemona’s tale by Ken Saro-Wiwa a book about a woman waiting to die that echoed the writers own fate.Then we followed Alain Mabanckou as he return to for the first time to his home town in The lights of Pointe-Noire . A storm blew in from Paradise saw the journey from Africa to Europe as a Uganda pilot escapes Uganda by Johannes Anyuru it was inspired by his father Then we find out about a House and the man who owns it in EC Osondu debut novel this house is not for sale .Our Musseque was a colourful tale of childhood in the slums of Luanda in Angola by Jose Luandino Viera a real lost gem .Then we head back to Europe and the Balkans with the third book by Andrej Nikolaidis Til Kingdom come , I am meeting Andrej again this month wonder if that will be in his next book?Then a nobel winner from France with Patrick Modiano’s biography pedigree a good insight into the man and what makes him tick.Then Belgium and the wife of the most notorious  killer of recent times in the woman who fed the dogs by Kristein Hemmerechts . Then a Spanish novel about a German city I have been too The ilogic of kassel saw how Enrique Vila-Matas got on at the documenta art show as a piece of art .A project for revolution in new york by Alain Robbe-Grillet was an interesting look at one of the best regard french writers of the 20th century .Then we moved to Argentina and a triptych of stories by Juan Jose Saer the one before made me want to read more by him.I finished the month of with a new country Yemen and Hurma the story of growing up a women in Yemen .So I reviewed 13 books which is one more than last month so things are slowly getting there .The book of the month was Voices of Chernobyl which showed me why its writer is considered such a favourite for the Nobel .I also had a trip to york  with Amanda

Looking forward I hope to clear a few more books from the last nine month and will be reading mostly if not all German Lit ready for November’s German Lit Month .What are your plans ?
