YES, PLEASE stay around, we need YOU! And as a French native translator myself, let me know if you bump into American writers who would like their work translated into French; or French writers to get their work translated in to English.

Your initial post really shocked me, Stu, and I’m relieved to read that you are doing ok(-ish). Please take care of yourself. You know that you will be missed if you decide to throw the towel in the ring!

I didn’t see the original post, but I definitely understand that a break is sometimes necessary if blogging is going to remain a pleasure rather than a chore. Take as long as you need, Stu!

Hi Stu. I’m back from my break just as you’re going on yours. Don’t be away as long as I was. Back in March I just got completely unable to post any more posts to my blog. I’d been writing too often and too long I think and suddenly the whole effort became distasteful to me. A form of writers block I suppose. Have a good break and come back refreshed.

A break can be good Stu … sometimes we bloggers drive ourselves too much I think. I’m giving myself permission not to feel I have keep to some expected schedule.

See you soon. (Anyhow, you are going into autumn and that’s such a golden time of year for enjoying peace and warmth I think)

At least I’ve read some few translations this year: talk about Blindness, Repudiation, So Long a Letter, etc.

Peirene and I are so pleased you won’t give up blogging all together. Knowing readers such as yourself is such a delight and encouragement for publishers like us. Each Peirene review you’ve written has been such a thrill to read. Promoting foreign literature is a tough job. Please pace yourself.
