bloomsday afternoon

for my next visit to dublin i choose one of the most famous scenes and the one that scholars link the book to the odysses ,joyce had read charles lambs childrens adaptation as a child ,we now find the books other main charcaterLeopold bloom  in a dublin pub having a arguement with a unanmed man but thought to be based on Joyces own father .Bloom storms out of the pub and has a biscuit tin hurled at him ,thus echoing the cyclops throwing the ship in homers book .

    A few weeks ago my Other Half (who’s a Dubliner) and I were trying to remember what day Bloomsday was on. I kept saying “it’s in that U2 song” and a quick check on the iPod revealed the answer!! 😉
