Its the end of blooms day we join the two main charcater drunk in a cabmans shelters in the early hours of what is the 17th june 1904 ,they have a encoutner with a drunken sailor . stephen departs with Corley a charcater that turns in two of Joyces other books .the picture isn’t the actual shelter that is no longer there
joyce triva – there is a book called the bloomsday dead by adrian mckinty published by serpents tail ,also there is a great book called ulysses and us by Declan Kiberd that helps unlock ulysses for the reader .

for my next visit to dublin i choose one of the most famous scenes and the one that scholars link the book to the odysses ,joyce had read charles lambs childrens adaptation as a child ,we now find the books other main charcaterLeopold bloom in a dublin pub having a arguement with a unanmed man but thought to be based on Joyces own father .Bloom storms out of the pub and has a biscuit tin hurled at him ,thus echoing the cyclops throwing the ship in homers book .

in three posts today I ll bring the sights of Joyce’s master piece ulyesses -
Its early morning in dublin and Stephen Dedalus and buck muligan are in sandy cove at martello tower having a hearty irish breakfast ,the events in this part of the book are some what autobiographical having been based on a incident in Joyces own life at said tower .
